Junagarh Fort

It was founded in 1593 AD. by Raja Rai Singh, a prominent general in Emperor Akbar's army. The fort is surrounded by a moat for defensive purposes. It reflects the perfect mastery of Rajput, Mughal and Gujarati architectural styles. There are two gates to the fort, namely Suraj Pol and Karan Pol. The other amazing attractions of Fort Junagarh are murals, glasswork, lacquer, carvings, stucco, stone inlays, and wooden ceilings.
